# Logs commands

Use the [`logs`](#passport-logs) command to view Passport logs, and the [`logs:clear`](#passport-logsclear) command to archive and reset them.

You can also see the [terminal dashboard](/passport/reference/passport-cli/dashboard/), which shows daemon and connection activity live.

## `passport logs`

View Passport logs, merging daemon activity and command activity by time.

### Usage

```bash showLineNumbers={false}
passport logs [options]
```

### Options

**`-f, --follow`**

Keep streaming new lines as they're written.

---

**`-n, --lines <n>`** — default: 100

Number of most recent lines to print first.

---

**`--level <level>`**

Only show lines at or above this level. Accepts `debug`, `info`, `warn`, or `error`.

---

**`--json`**

Emit raw JSON lines instead of formatted text.

---

**`--source <source>`** — default: all

Filter by source. Accepts `events` (daemon lifecycle events), `connections` (traffic records), or `all`.

---

### Examples

```bash showLineNumbers={false}
passport logs
passport logs --source connections
passport logs --source events
passport logs -f --level warn
```

## `passport logs:clear`

Archive the current logs and start fresh. This rotates and compresses the old logs rather than deleting them.

### Usage

```bash showLineNumbers={false}
passport logs:clear [options]
```

### Options

**`--source <source>`** — default: all

Which logs to clear. Accepts `events`, `connections`, or `all`.

---

### Example

```bash showLineNumbers={false}
passport logs:clear
```
