# Install the Passport plugin

Install the Passport plugin into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, or any coding agent that supports skills. Choose the method that fits your setup. Check that your agent meets the [requirements](#requirements) before you start.

## Requirements

The Passport plugin works with Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, and any detected agent on your machine that supports skills.

* Node.js 22 or later (only needed for the `npx skills add` method)
* Claude Code 2.1.268 or later
* Codex 0.138.0 or later
* Cursor 2.5 or later

## Any agent that supports skills

Install the skills into any detected coding agent on your machine that supports them, including Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Copilot, and Gemini CLI:

```bash showLineNumbers={false}
npx skills add postmanlabs/passport-skills
```

To update, run the same command again to pull the latest skills.

## Claude Code

Install the plugin for Claude Code using Claude's plugin marketplace:

```bash showLineNumbers={false}
/plugin install passport --marketplace postmanlabs/passport-skills
```

If your version of Claude Code doesn't recognize `--marketplace`, add the marketplace first, then install the plugin:

```bash showLineNumbers={false}
/plugin marketplace add postmanlabs/passport-skills
/plugin install passport@passport-skills
```

To update, run `/plugin marketplace update postmanlabs/passport-skills`, then `/plugin update passport`.

## Codex

Install the plugin for Codex from the command line:

```bash showLineNumbers={false}
codex plugin marketplace add postmanlabs/passport-skills
codex plugin add passport@passport-skills
```

You can also select the plugin from the `/plugins` menu inside Codex. With either method, start a new Codex session afterward so it loads the plugin's skills.

To update, run `codex plugin marketplace update postmanlabs/passport-skills`.

## Cursor

Install the plugin for Cursor from its marketplace, or from a local clone of the repository.

#### Marketplace

1. Click **Add Marketplace**, then click **Import from GitHub**.
2. Paste `https://github.com/postmanlabs/passport-skills`.
3. Install **passport** from the marketplace.

To add the marketplace from the command line, run the following, then install the plugin from the `/plugin` menu:

```bash showLineNumbers={false}
agent plugin marketplace add https://github.com/postmanlabs/passport-skills
```

#### Local clone

1. Clone the repository into Cursor's local plugins directory:

   ```bash showLineNumbers={false}
   git clone https://github.com/postmanlabs/passport-skills ~/.cursor/plugins/local/passport
   ```

2. Run **Developer: Reload Window** for Cursor to pick up the plugin.

To update a local clone, pull the latest and reload the window:

```bash showLineNumbers={false}
git -C ~/.cursor/plugins/local/passport pull
```

## Run from a clone

You can also run the plugin's skills from a local clone, without installing into an agent:

```bash showLineNumbers={false}
git clone https://github.com/postmanlabs/passport-skills
cd passport-skills
```

Start your coding agent in that directory, where it reads the repository's `AGENTS.md` file and loads the right skill. To update, run `git pull` in the clone. Then [work with your agent](/passport/reference/passport-plugin/work-with-agent/overview/).
