# Passport setup

Setting up Passport for your team starts with your infrastructure team deploying the Passport Proxy. From there, as a Passport Admin, you register the proxy, create namespaces, add resources, and manage API access requests.

## Deploy the Passport Proxy

[Deploy the Passport Proxy](/passport/set-up/deploy-passport-proxy/) in your Kubernetes environment. By the end, you'll have a running proxy that intercepts and logs API traffic and is ready to register with Passport Cloud.

## Register the Passport Proxy

After the proxy is deployed, [register it in Passport](/passport/set-up/set-up-proxy/) to connect it to your team so Passport Members can use it to send authenticated API requests.

## Create a namespace

[Namespaces](/passport/set-up/create-namespace/) group related APIs in Passport. Create one for each logical grouping of APIs your team manages, such as by product, environment, or team.

## Manage resources and secret references

[Add resources](/passport/set-up/add-resources/) to a namespace and map their secrets to secret references, so Passport Members can request access and call them without seeing the underlying credentials.

## Manage API access

[Manage API access requests](/passport/set-up/manage-api-access/) from Passport Members by approving or denying access to specific APIs.
