View the terminal dashboard

The terminal dashboard is a live, interactive view of your daemon’s status, proxied traffic, and certificate grants, running directly in your terminal.

Open the dashboard

Run passport to open it:

passport

You can customize the display using options such as --theme, --no-animation, and --ascii. For all display options, see Options.

Review the dashboard

The terminal dashboard displays the following sections:

Status bar — Shows the CLI version, whether the daemon is online, a certificate warning (for example, a prompt to run passport setup if no certificate is provisioned), network and VPN status, the signed-in identity, and the current request count.

Activity graph — A graph of daemon (dmn) and CLI (cli) request activity over time, including proxied, bypassed, and denied counts, success and failure counts, and the peak rate.

Summary — Tunnel count, bytes proxied, requests handled, requests rejected, and daemon uptime.

Traffic by host and Traffic by app — Panels showing request counts grouped by destination host and by the mechanism that routed the request (daemon for traffic routed through the local daemon, versus a direct passport request call).

Grants — The secret references encoded in your current certificate, each shown with its secret store provider and the endpoint it’s scoped to.

Failed secrets — Any secret resolution failures.

System — Connection and identity details: certificate validity countdown (with the r shortcut to renew), proxy connection status and upstream host, the daemon’s traffic-handling mode (cycles through permissive, strict, and allow-all), and the daemon’s process ID.

Errors — Recent error messages, if any.

Connection log — A live table of recent proxied connections:

ColumnDescription
TimeTimestamp of the connection.
FromWhether the connection came through the daemon (dmn) or directly from the CLI (cli).
ActionThe action taken for the connection, for example PROXY.
URLThe request URL, for example CONN postman-echo.com for a proxied CONNECT tunnel.
AppThe client application that made the request, when identified. Shows - otherwise.
OKWhether the request succeeded.
LatencyRequest latency.
